Fine Tune Your Vehicle’s Finish Like New

In some ways, our paint correction crew here at Firehouse Auto Spa of Jacksonville, Florida is like your own personal pit crew, undoing the surface defects that your ride has sustained while out on the road. Not only do our paint correction packages revive and restore a tired exterior, the buffing and polishing finish work we provide adds depth to your paint and prepares it for a ceramic coating, XPEL Paint Protection Film, or both!

If you are unsure about what our paint correction packages can accomplish to fix your finish and bring it back to its original new car shine, have a look at some of the common abrasions that paint correction can remove:

  • Light scratches on your clear coat
  • Swirl marks (spider webbing) caused by poor washing techniques
  • Etching left from acid rain and salty seawater buildup
  • Bug stains and bird droppings
  • Fading from UV damage
  • Oxidation, holograms, and more

Do not ignore surface defects, no matter how light they may be, or if you only notice them in direct sunlight. These imperfections are not only visually unpleasing, but also impact the integrity of your paint. These factors will have a negative effect on the resale and trade-in value of your vehicle. Check out our paint correction and vehicle restoration packages today, and let us know if you have any questions.

A Better Understanding Of Vehicle Paint Correction - FAQs

  • Can the cost of paint correction vary depending on my vehicle’s condition?

Absolutely, and this is something to prepare for as a vehicle owner. Our entry-level paint correction packages remedy light surface defects, such as swirl marks and oxidation. Our higher-level paint correction packages, especially our Wet Sanding package, will vary in price depending on how defective your paintwork is. An in-person inspection will determine the level of correction recommended for your vehicle.

  • What defects do paint correction efforts not fix?

Paint correction remedies a lot of the surface defects within your clear coat. If damage occurs that cracks through your clear coat, all the way to your original paintwork, that area may need to be repainted by an auto body professional. Likewise, paint correction does not fix body damage that has impacted the integrity of the vehicle itself, such as the results of a car accident.

  • Can you tell me which of your paint correction packages best suits my car?

Absolutely! Our four paint correction packages here at Firehouse Auto Spa start with a complete inspection of a vehicle’s exterior, and then a reinspection following a hand wash and the decontamination process. The inspection process allows our paint correction team to adequately determine how to best maintain the overall integrity of your clear coat and which package is best.

  • How much paint gets removed during paint correction?

None. As mentioned before, paint correction is actually a process of abrading away some clear coat to level off minor surface defects that have not broken through and chipped your actual paintwork. Our entry-level paint correction packages are rather light-duty, although our higher-level paint correction packages may go farther in remedying deeper defects. Even with a higher-level paint correction package, we strongly recommend pairing your paint correction package with a ceramic coating. With any paint correction package, we recommend a ceramic coating to offer additional protection for your vehicle and to maintain the monetary investment for your correction.

Paint Correction and New Vehicles - Should This Be Done?

Many detailing shops across the country may reference the opportunity to have a new vehicle’s paint corrected, leaving you wondering why. If you spent thousands of dollars on purchasing a new ride is it not the dealership’s job to make sure it is flawless?

This rarely takes place. You may be surprised that many vehicles have paint defects directly from the factory. Plus, your new vehicle has been transported, test-driven, washed and touched by many different people. All of these can and will cause scratches, swirls, and other surface marring. Remember: Many individuals may have looked at your brand new ride, or even have taken it for a spin.

Firehouse Auto Spa is known for bringing your vehicle to better then new by buffing and polishing its paintwork. You will be amazed at the Diamond in the Rough you have purchased. Let our team provide you guidance to which paint correction package would best benefit your new, or newer, automobile.
